About IWLV

Mission

The Insight World Literature Vault preserves, curates and publishes the great texts of civilization in scholarly and accessible editions. IWLV builds authoritative multilingual corpora, critical editions, and digital archives of classical, sacred, and world literary texts.

Our work spans the Sanskrit epics of the Indian subcontinent, the fables and wisdom literature of antiquity, the narrative traditions of the Arabian world, and the canonical texts of global literary heritage.

Why IWLV Exists

Great texts are at risk — not from physical decay alone, but from linguistic inaccessibility and scholarly neglect. The Ramayana, the Mahabharata, the Arabian Nights — these are not merely regional or religious texts. They are the civilizational inheritance of humanity.

IWLV exists to ensure these texts are preserved in open, durable formats; translated and annotated by scholars; and made available to researchers, students, and AI systems in the languages and formats needed for the twenty-first century.

Civilizational Focus

IWLV takes a civilizational approach to world literature — not defined by national canon or colonial heritage, but by the depth and reach of texts across time and culture. We prioritize:

IWLV corpora are published under CC BY-SA 4.0. Research datasets are hosted on HuggingFace as gated repositories available to verified researchers and institutions. Commercial licensing for AI training data is available.
